Hello Bay Area Knitters!
Not quite sure how I became a contributor of this blog but I think I can take on the task. Seeing that it has been years since the last post I think this is something we need to bring back to life, But I need to know people are following and what you would be interested in learning about? Hearing about? Do you want events posted? What I can I do help you and make this a successful blog.
I personally have been knitting approx 6-7 years and love it. Although I don't get to do it as much as I would like I would be more than happy to help in anyway I can.
Let me know what I can do to help!

Peninsula 2 Pier 2008 - Sept 18-21
Get Ready! The 2008 Peninsula 2 Pier LYS Shop Hop has been scheduled for September 18-21. Join 19 outstanding local yarn stores from Burlingame to Carmel for this fun weekend event.
Stop at any one of the participating 19 stores and pick up your P2P passport and map.
Visit each of the participating shops between September 18 and 21 and collect passport stamps at each of them. Build your stash and collect inspiration along the way. Don’t forget to collect your free exclusive one-skein knitting pattern designed by each store when you purchase the yarn to make the pattern.
No purchase is necessary to have your passport stamped.
Turn in your completed passport at the last shop you visit. This MUST be done during the LYS Shop Hop. If your passport contains stamps from all of the participating shops, you’ll be in the running for our fabulous grand prize!
Even if you don’t make it to all of the shops, you still have a chance to win in a raffle drawing by turning in your passport with 12 or more stamps!
Those with 19 stamps are eligible for the drawing for a $500 gift certificate to the store of the winner’s choice.
Those with 15 or more stamps are eligible for the drawing for a $300 gift certificate to the store of the winner’s choice.
Those with 12 or more stamps are eligible for the drawing for a $150 gift certificate to the store of the winner’s choice.
You need not be present to win. Winners will be notified using the contact information they provided in their passports. The winners’ names will be posted on this website as soon as it is available.
Pick your starting point and hit the road!
For more details, visit the Peninsula 2 Pier site or check in with any of the 19 participating stores.

Melisssa Leapman coming to Nine Rubies Knitting in January!
Nine Rubies Knitting has been fortunate to have a number of top designers and authors come to the shop in 2007. We've heard from many customers that they would have loved to work on socks with Nancy Bush, learned valuable tips from Lily Chin, learned combination knitting from Annie Modesitt or modular knitting from Iris Schreier. Alas, these classes were all during the week. Well, we've listened to our customers and will be doing workshops on the weekend. Melissa has taught these classes several times at Stitches and the TKGA shows. Now's your chance to enjoy them in the cozy atmosphere here at the shop.
Here's the schedule:
Saturday, January 26th
9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Basic Pattern Drafting ($70 plus materials)
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Crochet for Cowards ($70 plus $20 materials fee payable to the instructor)
Sunday, January 27th

Customer Appreciation Sale at Nine Rubies Knitting
And just like last year, we will be having the annual customer trunk show. Bring anything you’ve made since Nine Rubies opened and we will display it in the front window. Or just come and admire what other people have made and be inspired by your fellow knitters. Stay tuned for additional events and games that we will add between now and then.
